About Us

A&W Surveyors Inc. provides land surveying services in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. We began in 1988 and strive to provide superior product and service matched with exceptional customer service. Our team primarily serves title companies, mortgage companies, real estate agents, home builders, civil engineering firms, architects, municipalities, individuals and developers.

Owner, Scott P. Anderson is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor, No. 4888. Our President John “JT” Turner is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor, No 5310. We use the latest technology and dedicate our efforts to delivery timely and accurate surveys.

Scott Anderson

Scott Anderson began his surveying career in 1977 and in 1988 co-founded A&W Surveyors with Phil Wylie. In 1991 Scott became sole owner and incorporated into A&W Surveyors, Inc. Because of Scott’s Knowledge of surveying Metroplex properties, along with his wife Cindy, and her absolute dedication to the administration of the company, A&W grew rapidly as did its reputation for quality work and dependability among the Mortgage and Title Companies of the Metroplex. Scott and Cindy have taken a lessor role these days and put their trust in long time employees John Turner (RPLS) and Gwen Overkamp-Morrell, of A&W Surveyor’s, Inc.

John S. Turner (J. T.)

John serves as president of A&W Surveyors Inc. He started in the land surveying profession at the age of 18 as a rodman and moved up the ranks to Party Chief. He ran a Field Crew until he passed his Surveyor In Training Exam. Two years later he passed his RPLS exam in 1998 to achieve registration as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. He pursued an opportunity to be the Director of Survey Operations at Dowdy Anderson and Associates. In 2005 he purchased Analytical Surveys Inc. where he served as Owner and President. In 2010 he returned to A & W Surveyors Inc as President.

He was taught boundary law and reconstruction by his mentor and the owner of A&W Surveyors, Scott Anderson, RPLS 4888. His main focus has been boundary construction for all types of land surveys. He spent many years teaching the mathematics of professional land surveying to the staff of A&W. He loves the history of Land Surveying and teaches his staff as much history as possible. He has served as an expert witness and a fact witness in several court cases. He is regularly ask to speak to groups of Realtors to explain the intricacies of land surveys.

J. T. and his family attend Lakepointe Church in Rockwall. He enjoys vacationing with his wife and daughter, enjoys playing pickle ball, spends time on his boat on the lake. He is a diehard Texas Longhorn fan.

Gwen Overkamp-Morrell

Gwen serves as the Office Manager and Quality Control for A&W Surveyor’s Inc., and has been here for the last 12 years. Gwen has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources, and she has an extensive background in Marketing, Merchandising, and Customer Service. Gwen has been approved to take her SIT (Surveyor in Training) Exam; we project that she will ultimately become a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the upcoming years for the State of Texas and A&W Surveyor’s Inc.
